Mid-Summer Blues

July 20th, 2007 by Beth

Ah, you know summer is racing by when you’ve reached the last t-ball game of the season. It was very cute tonight. The boys (and two girls) each got a certificate and a trophy. Jake held it up to me and asked, “Is that me on there?” Yes, Baby, it sure is. Now if only we could’ve come home to some fried zucchini like my mom used to make after games… Oh well, maybe next year I’ll start that tradition.

Technology Bliss

July 20th, 2007 by Beth

So we splurged and got a new computer this week (actually, it was overdue. The old one, I think, was older than Jake, which is a dinosaur in Computer Years). The really cool part is I got to open it and set it up and play with it first. Not that Dan wouldn’t let me before now, it’s just that I defer to his computer expertise when he’s home. Anyway, the new ‘puter is much speedier and doesn’t protest about communicating with our other equipment. And that, my friends, makes me quite happy.

All in a Day’s Work

July 9th, 2007 by Beth

Sometimes I amaze myself. I always knew I was a creative person, but the things I come up with to re-engineer the kids’ broken toys are quite an accomplishment. The kids do not accept “It’s irreparable.” They push and pester until I figure out a way to make it usable. I’ve used duct tape, of course, to repair things, but I’ve also used tooth picks and tulle and yarn needles. So now I feel like I can fix anything.
